SPCA x HKJC Love and Care Cat Summer Festival at the Love and Care Centre, Tsing Yi | 25th Anniversary Celebration of 'Cat Colony Care Programme'

Description
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is delighted to announce that with the title sponsorship of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, the first-ever 'SPCA x HKJC Love and Care Cat Summer Festival' will be held in August 2025, kicking off a month-long celebration for cat welfare.
The 'SPCA x HKJC Love and Care Cat Summer Festival' will feature a range of exciting activities, workshops, and exclusive merchandise to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 'Cat Colony Care Programme' (CCCP). Since its launch in 2000, the programme has provided over 86,000 stray cats with free sterilization, vaccination, microchipping, and preventive medication, transforming the welfare of cats in Hong Kong.
Relying on public support for 99% of its operating expenses, SPCA aims to raise public awareness about cat care, promote responsible pet ownership, and fundraise for the crucial work of CCCP through this event.
Cat Treasure Hunt and CCCP-themed Exhibition
Starting from August 5, the SPCA Love and Care Centre in Tsing Yi will be taken over by cats, featuring eye-catching JEKCA cat-shaped block toys on the ground floor. These fun installations are set to become a must-visit check-in spot this summer! The art installations aim to draw attention to the welfare of stray cats. Meanwhile, six unique cat-shaped block toys are hidden around Tsing Yi Centre, inviting visitors to join a treasure hunt and test their knowledge of cat welfare in Hong Kong.
The exterior wall of the Tsing Yi Centre will display cat-themed artwork designed by local artist Maf Cheung. The cat adoption area also features a new cat-themed design, encouraging visitors to consider adopting a furry friend and providing them with a warm home.
Additionally, the first floor of the Tsing Yi Centre will host a CCCP-themed exhibition, interactively showcasing the programme's outstanding achievements over the past 25 years and vividly presenting its success in improving cat welfare and effectively managing the street cat population. The exhibition will be open to the public from August 16 (Saturday).
