[ET Net News Agency, 8 April 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$200.5
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$32.19 billion, or 16.06% of the market's
turnover. There were 800 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.21 billion and HK$2.01 billion, or 13.07%
and 6.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 31.25%
and 21.89% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.72 billion and HK$1.57
billion of short sales, accounting for 5.34% and 4.87% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 37.29% and 34.18% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.74, or 2.91%, to HK$26.14. BABA-W ended up HK$5.3, or 4.47%,
to HK$123.8. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.214, or 4.68% to HK$4.784. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$2.06,
or 2.38%, to HK$88.64.
