[ET Net News Agency, 20 October 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$145.42 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.07 billion, or 13.11% of the
market's turnover. There were 700 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.36 billion and HK$1.33
billion, or 12.38% and 6.95% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 54.85% and 13.21% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$831 million and HK$798.97 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.36% and 4.19% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 8.23% and 14.33% of respective stock's
turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed up HK$0.195, or 3.46%, to HK$5.83. BABA-W ended up HK$7.7, or 4.99%,
to HK$162.1. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.64, or 2.47% to HK$26.5. TENCENT jumped HK$23, or
3.78%, to HK$631.
