HK$315.81 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$44.08 billion, or 13.96% of the
market's turnover. There were 753 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.38 billion and HK$2.86
billion, or 7.67% and 6.48% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 11.64% and 16.03% of respective stock's turnover.
SMIC (00981) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.63 billion and HK$1.59 billion of short
sales, accounting for 3.71% and 3.61% of the total short sales values respectively. The
transactions represented 16.25% and 13.81% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.44, or 1.68%, to HK$26.56. BABA-W ended up HK$6, or 3.86%,
to HK$161.6. SMIC rose HK$2.65, or 3.61% to HK$76. TENCENT jumped HK$6, or 0.97%, to
HK$627.
