[ET Net News Agency, 13 October 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$281.82 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$36.24 billion, or 12.86% of the
market's turnover. There were 753 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.03 billion and HK$2.31
billion, or 8.35% and 6.38% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 11.14% and 20.62% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$2.15 billion and HK$2.12 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.95% and 5.85% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.72% and 16.94% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$9.1, or 5.5%, to HK$156.3. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.295, or
4.8%, to HK$5.855. TENCENT fell HK$27, or 4.14% to HK$624.5. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$4.07,
or 7.82%, to HK$47.98.
