HK$380.23 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$46.47 billion, or 12.22% of the
market's turnover. There were 760 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and MEITUAN-W
(03690) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$6.46 billion and HK$2.75
billion, or 13.91% and 5.92% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 11.77% and 20.42% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$2.58 billion and HK$1.73 billion
of short sales, accounting for 5.55% and 3.72% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 21.29% and 17.9% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$21.4, or 18.5%, to HK$137.1. MEITUAN-W ended up HK$0.3, or 0.29%, to
HK$103. BYD COMPANY fell HK$6, or 5.24% to HK$108.4. TENCENT jumped HK$8.5, or 1.42%, to
HK$605.
