billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$49.76 billion, or 14.83% of the market's
turnover. There were 747 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and MEITUAN-W (03690)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$8.91 billion and HK$3.02 billion, or
17.91% and 6.07% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
49.96% and 26.13% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.95 billion and HK$1.64 billion of
short sales, accounting for 3.92% and 3.31% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.13% and 15.07% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed up HK$0.035, or 0.63%, to HK$5.58. MEITUAN-W ended up HK$1, or
0.98%, to HK$102.7. BABA-W fell HK$0.1, or 0.09% to HK$115.7. TENCENT jumped HK$2.5, or
0.42%, to HK$596.5.
