[ET Net News Agency, 26 August 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$317.87 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$53.75 billion, or 16.91% of the
market's turnover. There were 748 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$9.26 billion and HK$2.29
billion, or 17.23% and 4.26% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 56.61% and 21.21% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.92 billion and HK$1.88 billion of
short sales, accounting for 3.57% and 3.5% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 17.4% and 14.87% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.34, or 1.29%, to HK$26.02. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$1.12,
or 1.18%, to HK$93.5. BABA-W fell HK$3.2, or 2.57% to HK$121.3. TENCENT declined by HK$5,
or 0.81%, to HK$609.5.
