[ET Net News Agency, 22 July 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$137.79
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$14.01 billion, or 10.17% of the market's
turnover. There were 686 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and MEITUAN-W (03690)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$997.64 million and HK$905.74 million,
or 7.12% and 6.46% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 23.35% and 24.04% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$499.87 million and HK$449.2 million
of short sales, accounting for 3.57% and 3.21% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 32.09% and 10.93% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.1, or 0.39%, to HK$25.56. MEITUAN-W ended down HK$2.2, or
1.68%, to HK$128.6. BYD COMPANY rose HK$2.8, or 2.19% to HK$130.5. BABA-W declined by
HK$0.7, or 0.59%, to HK$117.2.
