[ET Net News Agency, 21 July 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$263.01
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$28.8 billion, or 10.95% of the market's
turnover. There were 723 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and MEITUAN-W (03690) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.8 billion and HK$1.79 billion, or 6.26%
and 6.2% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 16% and
16.29% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$911.57 million and HK$894.69
million of short sales, accounting for 3.17% and 3.11% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 16.03% and 11.64% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$2.1, or 1.81%, to HK$117.9. MEITUAN-W ended up HK$3.5, or 2.75%, to
HK$130.8. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.04, or 0.74% to HK$5.48. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$0.6, or
0.65%, to HK$92.6.
