[ET Net News Agency, 16 July 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$157.94
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.24 billion, or 10.91% of the market's
turnover. There were 686 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.71 billion and HK$1.26 billion, or 9.92%
and 7.31% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 15.25%
and 21.61% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.14 billion and HK$667.18 million
of short sales, accounting for 6.59% and 3.87% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 20.12% and 8.67% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$1.9, or 1.67%, to HK$115.4. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.035, or
0.66%, to HK$5.37. MEITUAN-W fell HK$0.4, or 0.32% to HK$125.8. TENCENT jumped HK$1.5, or
0.29%, to HK$519.
