[ET Net News Agency, 14 July 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$119.71
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$12.06 billion, or 10.07% of the market's
turnover. There were 689 short-selling stocks. BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$480.73 million and HK$472.53 million, or
3.99% and 3.92% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
54.68% and 13.17% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$434.24 million and HK$362.04
million of short sales, accounting for 3.6% and 3% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 18.9% and 6.91% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY closed down HK$0.5, or 0.42%, to HK$119.6. BABA-W ended up HK$1.5, or 1.43%,
to HK$106.6. MEITUAN-W rose HK$0.7, or 0.58% to HK$120.7. TRACKER FUND jumped HK$0.02, or
0.08%, to HK$24.64.
