[ET Net News Agency, 30 May 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$271.56
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$37.56 billion, or 13.83% of the market's
turnover. There were 698 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.73 billion and HK$2.6 billion, or 7.26%
and 6.92% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 37.91%
and 11.17% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$1.63 billion and HK$1.62 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.33% and 4.32% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 17.43% and 15.49% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed down HK$1.3, or 1.47%, to HK$86.84. BABA-W ended down HK$4.2, or 3.56%,
to HK$113.9. MEITUAN-W fell HK$2.1, or 1.5% to HK$138. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$0.75, or
1.45%, to HK$50.95.
