[ET Net News Agency, 28 August 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$391.49 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$64.35 billion, or 16.44% of the
market's turnover. There were 753 short-selling stocks. MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$7.12 billion and HK$5.67
billion, or 11.07% and 8.81% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 22.14% and 17.95% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$5.67 billion and HK$3.44 billion
of short sales, accounting for 8.81% and 5.35% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 47.19% and 17.15% of respective stock's
turnover.
MEITUAN-W closed down HK$14.6, or 12.55%, to HK$101.7. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.2,
or 0.78%, to HK$25.5. CSOP HS TECH fell HK$0.05, or 0.89% to HK$5.545. BABA-W declined by
HK$5.7, or 4.69%, to HK$115.8.
