[ET Net News Agency, 25 August 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$225.89 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$29.84 billion, or 13.21% of the
market's turnover. There were 734 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and CSOP HS
TECH (03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.94 billion and HK$1.59
billion, or 13.2% and 5.31% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 50.82% and 31.5% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.58 billion and HK$1.52 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.3% and 5.09% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 11.8% and 16.11% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.56, or 2.17%, to HK$26.4. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.18, or
3.25%, to HK$5.72. BABA-W rose HK$6.9, or 5.85% to HK$124.9. TENCENT jumped HK$18.5, or
3.08%, to HK$618.5.
